Structure map guide
Before you search
Use the seed from the world you are actually playing. In Java Edition, run /seed when commands are available. In Bedrock Edition, the seed appears in the world settings. Copy every digit and keep a leading minus sign.
Select the edition and the version before using a coordinate. Java and Bedrock can show similar terrain while placing structures differently. Worlds updated from an older release can also contain old and new chunks on the same map.
The finder shows supported structure candidates for the current settings and visible region. A marker is a useful place to check, especially for buried or terrain-sensitive structures, but it is not a guarantee about the entrance, Y level, loot, or surrounding terrain.
How to find a structure
- 01Paste the complete seed into the field above and press GO.
- 02Choose Java or Bedrock, then select the version that generated the chunks you want to search.
- 03Select Overworld, Nether, or End. Structure choices change with the selected dimension and world settings.
- 04Turn on one target first, such as Village or Stronghold. Add more markers only when you need to compare a route.
- 05Drag the map to move and use the wheel or pinch gesture to zoom. More distant candidates appear as you explore another region.
- 06Open a marker to read its coordinates and distance, then verify an important location in the matching world.
Choose the correct dimension
Use the Overworld for Villages, Strongholds, Monuments, Trial Chambers, Ancient Cities, and most surface or underground locations. Switch to the Nether for Fortresses and Bastions. Use the End for End Cities and End Gateways. Coordinates belong to the selected dimension, so do not copy a Nether X/Z directly into an Overworld journey.
Keep the marker list readable
Begin with the structure that answers your immediate question. A Village and Stronghold can help plan early progression, while Monument and Shipwreck markers make more sense for an ocean route. Turning on every structure at once can hide useful relationships and make markers difficult to select.
Finding underground structures
A surface map can show the X/Z area for an underground target without revealing a simple entrance. Ancient Cities, Trial Chambers, Mineshafts, Dungeons, Strongholds, and Fossils may require searching at different heights. Use the marker to reduce the search area, then check the popup and inspect the location in game.
If a marker does not match the world
Recheck the seed, edition, version, dimension, and coordinate sign. For an updated world, select the release that originally generated that chunk. Mods, datapacks, add-ons, experiments, templates, and custom server generation can also change or remove expected structures.
Structure Finder questions
Which structures are available?
The list changes with the edition, version, and dimension. Unsupported choices are hidden. Select a world first to see the structures available for that setup.
Why is a Java coordinate different in Bedrock?
Structure placement is not interchangeable between editions. Use the Bedrock setting for mobile, console, Windows, and Realms, and Java for a Java Edition world.
Why can I see only X and Z for some structures?
Some targets are underground or can generate at different heights. The finder may narrow the search to a horizontal area while the final Y level must be checked in game.
Why is a marker at the center of a chunk?
Small or buried features can be offset within their generated chunk. Search the nearby blocks instead of treating one X/Z point as the exact doorway.
Can I use the newest version for an old world?
Use the version that created the chunk. A world updated over time can require different selectors for old explored land and newly generated areas.
Can I display every supported structure?
Yes, but starting with one or two types usually makes the map easier to read and the route easier to compare.
How is this page different from the Java and Bedrock pages?
Structure Finder opens around the marker task. The Java and Bedrock pages provide the full edition map with all available views and filters.

Map and coordinate reports
For a missing or misplaced result, include the full seed, Java or Bedrock, game version, dimension, coordinates, and what appeared in the world. Mention mods, datapacks, add-ons, experiments, server software, or old chunks when relevant.
