About ChunkSeed

What ChunkSeed is for, who maintains it, and how to read its maps without treating them as a substitute for the game.

A map for planning Minecraft worlds

ChunkSeed helps players look through a world seed before a long survival trip or a new multiplayer season. Enter a seed, choose the matching edition and version, then use the map to compare biomes, supported structures, spawn areas, and possible routes.

It is useful when you are choosing between several seeds, looking for a place to build, planning a Realm with friends, or checking how far a destination is from spawn. No account or world upload is required for the main map.

Built and maintained independently

ChunkSeed is developed and maintained by Gio Nui. The project is separate from Mojang Studios and Microsoft, and it is not presented as an official Minecraft service.

Updates focus on ordinary player needs: clearer controls, useful filters, readable coordinates, current version choices, and honest notes where a result still needs to be checked in game.

What the map can help you decide

The full Java and Bedrock maps are designed for broad world planning. Focused pages such as Biome Finder, Village Finder, Structure Finder, Slime Chunk Finder, and Dungeon Finder open the same world around a more specific question.

Popular Seeds offers starting points discovered by the community. Each page should be read together with its listed edition and version because an interesting seed is only useful when those details match the world you create.

How to treat a result

A map marker narrows the search. It does not promise a convenient entrance, safe terrain, particular loot, or an unchanged result in a modified world. Snapshot, Preview, experimental, upgraded, and server-managed worlds deserve extra care.

Before moving a base or spending hours on a route, open a Creative copy and check the important coordinates. If something does not match, send the seed, edition, version, dimension, and observed location to support@chunkseed.com.

Editorial approach

Pages are written to answer the task a player came to complete. Instructions come first, technical background stays brief, and limitations are included where they affect a real decision.

Community discoveries are credited when a source adds useful context. A screenshot or comment may inspire a Popular Seeds entry, but it is not treated as proof for every release or platform.
